About Anna Koenig

Anna Koenig (née Anna Notara) was born in Malta to Greek parents.

She lived in Greece, the USA, and Belgium as a child, and in Egypt as a newly-wed, before settling in London where she enjoyed a successful career in finance, achieving high-ranking executive positions in major banks.

Having reached a point where her children were independent, and no longer being fulfilled by meetings in glass and steel skyscrapers, she decided to take early retirement, swap Excel for Word and pursue her long-held dream of becoming a writer.

Black and Blue is her debut novel. She has also written short stories (twice shortlisted by Flash 500).

Anna has a Master’s degree in international history from the London School of Economics and is certified with honours as a Life Coach from Britain’s Coaching Academy.

She divides her time between London, Athens and a village in Greece, where she has family ties spanning generations, and which has always provided both roots and a refuge.

She has been married to her husband, Janos, for around half a century, and they have two adult children, as well as three grandchildren who are unlikely to read anything she writes anytime soon, but do love her moussaka
